The Teller III plays a key role in delivering exceptional banking services by processing transactions accurately, handling customer inquiries, and assisting with operational duties. As a senior teller, this role may also include training new tellers, resolving escalated issues, and ensuring compliance with bank policies and procedures. This position serves as a role model for junior team members and supports the overall efficiency of branch operations.
- Perform a variety of banking transactions including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and account transfers with accuracy and professionalism.
- Provide outstanding customer service by answering inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring a positive banking experience.
- Handle complex transactions such as large cash deposits, account maintenance, and wire transfers in accordance with policy.
- Monitor and balance individual teller drawers and assist with branch cash balancing, including the vault and ATM.
- Identify opportunities to promote bank products and services; refer customers to appropriate departments or specialists as needed.
- Serve as a mentor and resource to new or junior tellers; assist with onboarding and training in bank policies, procedures, and customer service standards.
- Resolve customer and transaction escalations, applying sound judgment and compliance knowledge.
- Support compliance efforts by following security protocols and reporting any suspicious activity or potential fraud in a timely manner.
- Assist with operational tasks such as audits, reporting, and maintaining accurate financial and transaction records.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience as a bank teller or in a similar financial services role.
- Strong knowledge of banking regulations, internal controls, and compliance standards.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and coach team members effectively.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and strong analytical/problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
- Proficient in using banking software and familiar with cash-handling protocols.
